Focusing on "adapting to livestock digestive characteristics, ensuring nutritional balance, and improving livestock production efficiency," through customized equipment and processes, we process raw materials such as corn, bran, silage, soybean meal, and minerals into pelleted, powdered, or silage-based mixed feeds tailored to the needs of different livestock species and growth stages, including pigs (piglets, fattening pigs, sows), cattle, and sheep. This approach improves feed utilization by 12%-18% and reduces the incidence of digestive system diseases in livestock.
II. Core Process Flow
(I) Raw Material Pre-treatment
Cleaning Equipment: In addition to vibrating screens for impurity removal and permanent magnets for metal absorption, drum washers are installed for silage, straw, and other raw materials to remove dirt and rotten parts to prevent impurities from affecting feed quality.
Grinding Equipment: Adjustments are made to livestock types—pig feed is ground to 0.8-1.5mm using a hammer mill (finer for piglet feed), while cattle and sheep feeds are ground to 1-3mm coarse particles (suitable for ruminant digestion). Straw is processed into 3-5cm segments using a kneading machine for easier mixing.
Conditioning Equipment: Pig feed is subjected to saturated steam at 100-105°C, with a moisture content of 15%-17%. Ruminant feed is tempered to 85-95°C, with a moisture content of 14%-16% to prevent high temperatures from damaging crude fiber nutrients. A probiotic premix is also added to enhance intestinal absorption.
(II) Mixing and Pelleting Stage
Mixing Equipment: Use a ribbon mixer (suitable for coarse-grained raw materials) to mix the crushed material, silage, and minerals (such as calcium and phosphorus additives) in appropriate proportions. The coefficient of variation of the mixing uniformity should be ≤6%. For sow feed, additional dietary fiber should be added to ensure that the stratification rate of the mixed materials is ≤3%.
Pelletizing/Pressing Equipment: For pig feed, use a ring die pelletizer, producing pellets of 2.5-6mm in diameter (smaller pellet size for piglets) and a pelleting rate of ≥92%. For cattle and sheep feed, use a flat die pelletizer (suitable for coarse raw materials) or a briquetting press, producing 5-10mm pellets or 3×5cm blocks. This reduces crude fiber loss during transportation while meeting the chewing needs of ruminants.
(III) Finished Product Processing
Cooling and Drying Equipment: Pig feed pellets are cooled to room temperature (temperature difference ≤ 5°C) using a countercurrent cooler. Ruminant feed, because it contains coarse raw materials, is dried in a belt dryer (60-70°C) to reduce the moisture content to 12%-14% to prevent mold.
Grading and Screening Equipment: A double-deck vibrating grading screen is used. The upper layer removes lumps >10mm, and the lower layer removes broken particles <2mm. Pig feed broken particles are returned to the pelleting machine, while coarse ruminant feed pellets can be retained directly.
Packaging and Storage Equipment: Quantitative packaging machines are used to package 25kg/50kg pellets. For silage mixed feed, a vacuum packaging machine is used (extending the shelf life to 3-6 months). Storage requires a silo temperature control system to maintain a silo temperature of 15-20°C and a humidity of ≤65%.
